Mazvikadei Dam

Mazvikadei Dam is a dam approx 35 km from Chinhoyi, which was build in 1985 to provide water for farm irrigation. It is the third largest dam in Zimbabwe. Built on the Mukwadzi River north of Banket it has a storage capacity of 360 million cubic meters with a surface area of 2 300 hectares when full.

Mazvikadei is a popular weekend getaway. While enjoying the beautiful scenery of the dam surrounded by indigenous trees and African bush, there are several things to do. Fishing is one of the most populair activities here but you can also take a relaxing boat cruise. Don’t forget to bring your camera!
